Pension Payments from the Rumanian Government to Those Eligible Through Postal branches in Israel Print   Back >>
 
Our Banking Service has collaboration with the Rumanian post bank have reached an agreement with the Rumanian government by which Rumanians living in Israel and entitled to pension payments from Rumania can obtain the funds from Rumania at the postal units in Israel.
From now on there is:
No need for a Rumanian passport
No need for a life confirmation from the Rumanian embassy
No need to grant power of attorney in order to obtain the funds

In order to obtain application forms for the new arrangement, pensioners are requested to apply in writing to the Banking Service, POB 36125 Jerusalem 91998.

The application forms must be completed by the person submitting the request clearly and legibly in Hebrew and Rumanian, enclosing a photocopy of the first page of the person’s ID card. It is also possible to enclose documents relating to the pension file.

After completing the forms the applicant will personally submit them to the postal teller, together with an Israeli ID card and a photocopy of the person’s ID.

Submitting the application forms costs 10 NIS.

The procedure of approving the forms in Rumania will require approximately two months. When the procedure is completed, the pension payments will be forwarded to Israel, and a notification will be mailed to the applicant.

Upon the forms’ approval in Rumania and the transfer of the pension payments to Israel, the applicant will be able to cash his/her pension monies at the nearest postal branch.

Pension monies are paid by the Rumanian government in local currency. They shall be converted to Dollars at the end of each month, and accumulate to the credit of the applicant at Banc Post in Dollars.

The amounts will be transferred to the Israeli Postal Bank 3 times a year (in April, August and December). The monies will be paid out at the postal branches in Shekels, based on the Dollar’s exchange rate at the day of the payment.

The commission collected for the service will be $15 for each pension payment up to $500. No other commission will be collected for the service, and no life confirmations and other fees formerly required from Rumanian pensioners will no be needed.
