Israel honors the late Pope John Paul II Print   Back >>
The Israel Postal Authority issued a commemorative postage stamp dedicated to Pope John Paul II on May 18 2005, the date that would have been the Pope's 85th birthday. The stamp shows Pope John Paul at the Western Wall during his visit to Jerusalem in 2000. It bears the Pope's prayer for peace in the Holy Land, expressed during the visit: "May peace be God's gift to the land He chose as His own."
This historic stamp is now available in a special souvenir stamp pack containing
*A stamp sheet of six beautifully designed stamps depicting Pope John Paul II at the Western Wall.
*A First Day Cover bearing the stamp and special cancellation dated May 18 2005.
*An information leaflet with details about the stamp and the Pope's unique connection with the Jewish people and the Holy Land.
This special souvenir stamp pack can be yours for only $9.50 plus shipping and handling.
